5. Initiating a Mantra

The technique used to initiate a mantra
in Transcendental Meditation is an application of yogic science, akin to modern neuro-linguistic programming, as a way to imprint
a pattern on the brain:

Sit quietly in a private place, close your eyes and speak the mantra aloud twice.

Then whisper it once.

Then engage with it silently, repeating it
over and over in your mind for 20 minutes.

You now have a mantra.

Keep it a secret.
